Founded in 2000 by a group of clinicians, Perth Injury and Trauma Research Institute was established with the aim of low cost research driven by clinicians.  As we gained momentum and confidence in the research community, PITRI has revised our main objectives from low cost, simple data driven analysis to a higher purpose and legacy of a multi-dimensional research community. We are committed to developing a high profile research hub in Western Australia to bring together groups with innovative, and clever ideas for reducing injury and treating victims in a better way to achieve excellent physical and psychological outcomes. We will continue to conduct research and also distribute excess grants across a variety of different fields, and also form a network with like minded organisations.  Education will be a key vehicle in spreading the knowledge and findings from research in W.A.

PITRI is registered with Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

PITRI is endorsed by the  Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a deductible gift recipient (DGR). It is important to note that not all charities are eligible for DGR endorsement.  DGR status allows PITRI to receive tax deductible donations.
